KINDER KICKS SOCCER

SOCCER CLASSES FOR PRE-SCHOOL KIDS

Age appropriate sessions in English for young learners.

Teaching soccer skills, motor skills and social skills.

Kinder Kicks is a soccer / football play program for children from walking to 5 years old. Classes are in English.

Our professional coaches teach a wide variety of exciting games where students enjoy themselves while learning the basics of soccer. Each activity is designed to improve a young child’s motor skills and social skills … while scoring goals and having fun!

We coach over 1,500 under-5 Kinder Kicks students EVERY WEEK at over 30 locations, including Hong Kong’s best schools, clubs and associations. We are trusted by our partners and parents to provide professional, reliable and fun sessions.

OUR MODEL

We use lots of special equipment in our classes – e.g. bean bags, skittles, mini footballs, hoops and goals in age appropriate games.

We also incorporate storytelling to the fun, with our family of Kinder Kicks animals! We always strike a good balance between learning and enjoyment.

We split our classes into DIFFERENT age groups

  • walking to 2 years old
  • 2 year olds
  • 3 year olds
  • 4-5 year olds
  • Above this age children should join our Asia Pacific Soccer Schools programme.

Our sessions are always fun, but include real coaching and real learning!

TOPICWHY? …
DribblingSmall touches. Penguin walk with ball between feet, shifting to push with the laces and inside/outside. Using the sole to stop the ball. Introducing the 10 KK moves.
Running with the ballWhen there is space bigger touches. Move away from toe-poke and chase to laces push and run, decelerating as space runs out.
TurningChanging direction. Sole/inside/outside foot turns. 90 & 180 degree turns. Weight of touch to turn and readjustment of feet to collect the ball again.
Releasing the ballEffectively learning how to pass or shoot. Learning to ‘release’ the ball from the feet using the inside foot then the laces. To give the ball to the coach or another player, or to score or find a target to hit.
Ball controlInitially learning to trap a moving ball with the sole of the foot. Progressing to using good ball control technique cushioning the ball with the inside of the foot.

The Kinder Kicks ‘curriculum’ and ‘learning outcomes’ have been created by our professional coaches, who have many years’ experience in working with very young students. We aim to building technical competence at a young age, but more importantly grow a love of sport in our players. All sessions mix fun with learning.

Supporting Emotional Development:

We also try to build social skills in our players – learning to get on with their coach and classmates!

Learning to:

Take turns
Share equipment
Respect the coach and others
Look, listen, concentrate
Follow instructions
Develop manners
Try your best
Understand success & failure

USING THE KINDER PASSPORT

We also use a ‘Kinder Passport’ which players should bring each week.

The coach can let players know the areas they are doing well, and the areas that need work by stamping the relevant passport page to record this each week.
